About Malawi Journal of Education and Development
The Malawi Journal of Education and
Development (MJED) is an international, peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary
journal published by the University of Malawi School of Education. Housed within
the School of Education at the University of Malawi, the journal operates as a
Diamond Open Access platform, ensuring that no publication fees are charged to
authors and no access fees are required from readers. The primary purpose of
the journal is to advance high-quality scholarship at the intersection of
education and sustainable development.
The journal prioritizes research that examines the social, economic, political, or cultural dimensions of education alongside their direct implications for sustainable development. Rather than strictly adhering to isolated academic paradigms, MJED encourages integrated multidisciplinary perspectives to address complex socio-educational issues. While the journal maintains a strong focus on Malawian realities, it actively welcomes global perspectives, drawing contributors, board members, and readers from diverse international contexts to foster global dialogue and knowledge exchange.
The journal accepts manuscript submissions continuously throughout the year. MJED publishes two regular issues annually, releasing editions in June and December to ensure the steady and timely dissemination of research findings.
