Dr Yonah Hisbon Matemba is an Associate Professor in the Department of Education and Social Work, Faculty of Health, Education and Social Care, University of the West of Scotland, UK where he teaches and co-ordinates several subject-specific curriculum courses across Teacher Education programmes (BA Education and Professional Graduate Diploma in Education). He supervises many doctoral students, and since 2016 has successfully supervised 12 doctoral projects. Dr Matemba is an anti-colonial and religious education scholar and has published extensively in these areas in books, chapters, academic articles and Special Issues. Dr Matemba’s current project focuses on developing an Anticolonial Framework for Religious Education. In addition, Dr Matemba is a Senior Research Fellow in Religion and Decolonial Education, Lincoln Bishop University, UK., and currently co-editor responsible for Special Issues for the British Journal of Religious Education (Tailor & Francis) and also the co-handing editor for Humanities and Social Sciences Communications Journal (SpringerNature).
